CORCOVADO

Considered one of the 7 new wonders of the world, Christ Statue is Rio’s most visited monument, situated at 710 meters above sea level on the top of Corcovado mountain, where you can have a 360-degree view of the city.

It was a gift from the Catholic Church to celebrate 100 years of Brazilian independence from Portugal. With its open arms faced to the entrance of Guanabara Bay, where the foreign people used to arrive in Rio de Janeiro on their boats, it’s a symbolic way to welcome tourists.
